Trip to Kuching & Sibu Again

Another trip to East Malaysia this time, including Kuching for one day and Sibu another day.

Leaving LCCT
Sarawak might not be famous for their city view but they certainly own beautiful nature view
Reached at Kuching! Their most developed city.
First Meal - Sarawak Laksa
Then we dropped by at Giant Tabuan Jaya which will be opening soon. That's basically my job. To visit all new outlet and prepare the outdoor advertising for each outlet.
We stayed at Four Points Hotel which is a new hotel near Kuching International Airport. Great Hotel i would say judging based on the breakfast i had and the design of their toilet.

The toilet comes with bathtub and standing shower.

View from the lift area.
View from Hotel

One of their biggest shopping mall - The Spring
The second day we travel to Sibu for another outlet opening. We reach in the evening so only can work the next day. Stayed at Premier Hotel which i did not fancy at all.

Town view from Hotel
Before I fly back to KL, we had our lunch at Tom's Too which is one of their famous cafe.
Fish n Chips!
One of the best White Coffee I've tasted
What can be worse when u meet such people in the flight? I was sitting in the middle with this idiot on my left. He fished throughout the 2 hours journey and he didnt really care even though i kept pushing his head.

Then on my right there was this lady who was crying beside me. God knows why. But why i have to be sitting in between this two problematic people.

Will be travelling to these two cities again next week for Giant Sibu Opening.

Trip to Sibu

Giant Hypermarket Sibu will be opening soon so I was ordered to travel there for my work.

On the way to Sibu from LCCT
Once we reach my boss friend picked us up and head over to lunch

Our first meal - Taste like Wan Tan Mee in KL but much better because it is cooked with pork oil
Majority of Sibu people are Chinese. Hardly can find any indian or other race. Malay got some thou.
I stayed at Tanahmas Hotel which is quite famous there eventhough its small. Small town ma...

China made chandelier

Reception Counter

Most people there lived in big house (smallest also Semi D) WTF? All the houses can fit at least 2 - 3 cars inside the house compound. KL majority also 1 max also 2 only. There are no proper shopping mall there. Their biggest mall is only as big as Klang Parade. This show they don really have much entertainment to spend money on. That is why my boss say most people there spend on house, TV and cars only. Here are some pictures of their houses, shops and city view.

Flooded house - no longer occupied
One of the shopping mall - this picture show exactly how big the mall is

Church - majority are Christian there

At night we drove all the way into a kampung area (the road is freaking dark) for our dinner. The food are worth traveling for almost 30 minutes though.

Local Soft drink - without gas wan
Deer meat - Awesome
Traditional Vege
Fried Chicken with Potato
Crispy Roasted Chicken
Then they bring me to take the picture of their tallest building in Sibu.
Their approach is similar to KLCC, shopping mall at the bottom with offices upstairs (shorter version)
Next morning we went for breakfast before our work at one of the coffee shop (my favourite place for breakfast don know why) XD

Lunch at one of the cafe

Beef nasi lemak
Rendang Chicken Nasi Lemak
Tasteful Sarawak Mee Mamak
After our lunch before i head back to KL, they bring me around to explore the town since we have free time before the flight. My boss was born in Sibu so he knows the place well.

Another mini shopping mall - best brand inside is Hush Puppies

Town Centre Temple

Nescafe coloured Lake
Cruise
Port
In the middle of the town they have this 12 chinese animal zodiac for tourist photo taking.

This is not one of the Chinese Zodiac, just Sibu trademark. SWAN
1st - Mice
2nd - Cow
3rd - Tiger
4th - Rabbit (ME & my son)
5th - Dragon
6th - Snake
7th - Horse (My wife)
8th - Goat
9th - Monkey
10th - Chicken
11th - Dog
12th - Pig
After taking all these pictures, it was about time to go to airport. While otw there, we drop by at the temple nearby to take some shots. It is a very very big temple. Why shopping malls so small then? Zzz..

Our ancestor
My Ancestor!

That's the end of the trip to Sibu. The airport only has 3 gates in total. I never know there are such small airport since those that i always go are Subang Airport, KLIA and LCCT. haha anyway had a really great trip there to understand their culture thanks to the my boss and his hometown friend.
